The Orvieto Trio returns to the Rancho Bernardo Library Concert Series, by popular acclaim!  The show will be Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m., at the library’s community room.

The Trio will open with one of Fauré’s best-known works, the Pavane in F-sharp minor, transcribed for piano trio by Dr. Chow himself.  Fauré originally wrote the work for piano and chorus, but his orchestral version is most often played today.  The next selection will be an excerpt from Music for Egon Schiele by contemporary American composer Rachel Grimes. The piece, simple and beautiful, was inspired by the short life of the Expressionist painter. The program will close with one of the masterpieces of the chamber repertoire, Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor.
