Local business ICON Utility Services and their sister company, GIS Surveyors, Inc., recently hosted the 1st Annual Warrior Built Golf Tournament. Both companies are service-disabled veteran owned, and the tournament benefited The Warrior Built Foundation, which provides vocational and recreational opportunities to combat veterans and wounded service members. Events and activities from building motorcycles to playing softball help veterans transition to civilian life with support and camaraderie.

“It’s about creating relationships between fellow combat veterans,” explained Warrior Built Founder and President Nick Hamm. “The best thing we can do for you is connect you with other combat vets in order to strengthen your support network.”

The tournament was held at Riverwalk Golf Club and welcomed 136 golfers. Eight vendors and 47 sponsors took part for a day of golf, craft brews, fine dining, and more, and $38,324 was raised for the foundation. Learn more at www.warriorbuiltgolftournament.com.
