Rancho Bernardo Toastmasters recently confirmed its board members for the new year. The group was founded in 1978 as an eight-person club and has grown to a group of more than 20 people attending each weekly meeting. The club’s goal is to help community members improve their communication and leadership skills. As member Tina Ayala said, “This is by far the most cost-efficient and practical way to develop confidence and experience in public speaking.”

Club Secretary Ron Gross shared, “We recently had a guest tell us she learned new listening and persuasion skills from speeches that were delivered during her first visit to our Toastmasters club. She used those same skills during a job interview the following day, and she landed the job!” Vice President of Membership Bill Bee added, “Ours is a diverse group of both native and non-native English speakers, and that adds richness and depth to the speech topics and learning opportunities.”

Meetings are held Thursday mornings at The Gateway in Poway, and guests are welcome. To learn more visit 112.toastmastersclubs.org or call Bill at 858-592-7994.
