Local musicians recently joined with their internationally acclaimed guest artist for a performance that still has the community talking. The Poway Symphony Orchestra and Conductor John LoPiccolo collaborated with piano soloist Fred Moyer for an outstanding rendition of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2.

The orchestra looks forward to another collaborative concert later this month. The Benefic Piano Trio will take the stage at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts on May 19. “The trio is made up of top-notch musicians, all graduates of the famous Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles,” shared LoPiccolo. “One can be assured of their unique talents.”

The trio is composed of Sunhwa Kim on piano, Misha Vayman on violin, and Cello Guo on cello, and will be joining the orchestra to perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in C Major. “This concerto represents an example of his mastery of composing for such a unique combination,” said LoPiccolo. The Poway Symphony Orchestra will also play Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 that night.
