Two outstanding jazz instrumentalists will combine for a celebration of the music of master jazz composers, as well as some original compositions, at an April 24 concert. The event will be held in the Rancho Bernardo Library Community Room from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.

Holly Hofmann has worked with legends like Ray Brown, James Moody, Kenny Barron, and Diana Krall and has a dozen recordings of her own.  Her recent CD “Low Life” is a showcase for the Alto Flute.  She grew up with jazz accompanying her father, a jazz guitarist.  She is also classically trained at Interlochen Arts Academy and the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Mike Wofford, piano has accompanied singers Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and other vocalists.  He has also played with John Lennon and Phil Spector.  He has made almost two dozen recordings.  Although a native of Texas, he grew up in San Diego and is well known in this area. In 2012, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the San Diego Music Awards.
