Music at the Library

Discover the diversity of local music at upcoming Rancho Bernardo Library performances. These free productions are possible thanks to the nonprofit Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library, dedicated to expanding residents’ cultural horizons and supporting the local library.

The 2018-2019 Classical & Jazz Concert Series continues with the favorite Neave Piano Trio on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 6:15 p.m. This chamber ensemble includes Mikhail Veselov on cello, Eri Nakamura on piano, and Anna Williams on violin, and they released their second album, French Moments, in June 2018. The successful young trio has performed at concerts and festivals worldwide. They will perform Debussy’s Piano Trio in G Major, Shostakovich’s Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67, and Piazzolla’s Las Cuatros Estaciones Porteñas at the library.

The Discovery Concert Series continues with Oak Valley Chamber Strings, directed by Lily Lazarri, on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. The group includes 15 to 20 violin, viola, cello, and bass players from the Oak Valley Middle School Orchestra program.

The next Discovery Concert will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m., with the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir of San Diego presenting Joyful Noise. Directed by Kenneth Anderson, the traditional gospel choir sings songs with spiritual meaning and heart-filled sound. The choir raises funds for educational grants for San Diego County high school seniors pursuing a college degree in visual or performing arts.
