The Rancho Bernardo Community Council (RBCC) recently gave a donation to the Pomerado Elementary School Garden Club. The garden, which is a true grassroots project spearheaded by a school parent, provides a natural green space for students to learn and play. Students can taste the food grown there and learn simple recipes that can be made with the produce. The garden coordinator shared, “The grand plan for this garden is to be able to someday give back to families in need within the Pomerado Elementary School community.”

The funds were raised at RBCC’s 1st Annual Earth Day event, which was held in April of last year. The event had a very successful first year, with approximately 300 attendees, 27 vendors, raffles, and a kids’ craft center. Stay tuned for news on this year’s event at
