Rancho Bernardo High School student Sooyoung Kim was one of six recipients of the 2017 North County Society of Fine Arts (NCSFA) scholarships. NCSFA awards scholarships each year to deserving North County high school seniors who intend to pursue degrees in the visual art fields. Sooyoung is an international student from Korea with incredible creativity and artistic talent. She wants to follow in her art professor parents’ footsteps and teach art while developing her talents as a studio artist. She has been accepted to University of California colleges and ArtCenter College of Design in L.A. for the fall.

NCSFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering appreciation and education of fine art in the community. In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must meet the requirements, complete the written application, and be interviewed by the selection committee. A total of $4,000 was divided among the winners this year. Learn more at www.ncsfa.org.
