cm_basketballfeed2Members of the Bronco Ball Youth Basketball Program and Rancho Bernardo High School (RBHS) boys basketball team participated in a volunteering event to give back to the community in late October. “I wanted to unite the two programs in a volunteer event, as they both obviously have the sport of basketball in common but are also built on family and community,” explained Bronco Ball Youth Basketball board member Karie Brown, who arranged the opportunity. “I wanted to arrange an event where the students could volunteer their time in giving back to our community.”

cm_basketballfeed4The boys went to the Feeding America distribution center in Sorrento Valley, where they learned how the food was donated and then assisted the organization in their efforts. Karie plans to schedule another volunteer event later in the school year for the girls’ programs to participate as well. “Community is important to both programs, and the Bronco Boys are proud to be involved,” Karie said.
