The Tight-Knit Rice Family is Making the Most of Rancho Bernardo
The Rice family has lived in Rancho Bernardo for just over a year, and it’s a perfect fit. “We are a dual working, blended family, so geography is really crucial for all members of our team,” shared Shannon Miller-Rice. The rest of the team is made up of her husband, David, and their sons Ethan (11) and Dillon (4). Rancho Bernardo is perfectly located for their needs – David’s office is in San Marco, Ethan attends school and splits time at his father’s house in La Jolla, and Dillon attends school in Poway.
“We are a very close group, which extends to Ethan’s father and grandfather, and my mom, who all participate to help raise these two boys,” explained Shannon. “Our mission is to raise healthy and upstanding citizens, who see and learn from our behaviors and relationships.” The boys are doing their parents proud. Ethan – who has played baseball, surfed, and built lasting friendships at Torrey Pines Elementary School – transitions to middle school in September. Dillon is thriving with Country Montessori School’s structure and teaching techniques.

He added, “Shannon is forever moving, her Fitbit buzzing daily with the number of steps she takes to manage her business, get the boys where they need to be, and circling back around at the end of every day.”
The Rice family has a lot going on, and they’re enjoying every minute of it together.
