On April 16, at 10 a.m., Jack Larimer, Director of the Vista Historical Society and Museum, will speak about the transition of their museum from temporary quarters to their permanent home in the old Minerva Ranch House.

With a 400 member society, Vista’s Museum enjoys much community support. Owned and operated by the city, the Vista museum features exhibits ranging from vintage clothing to historical school photos, from water rights issues to military memorabilia.

The Minerva Ranch House, built in 1911 and rebuilt in 1934, has about 1,500 square feet of exhibit space.

The Larimer family has been in Vista since the 1930s. A graduate of Army Navy Academy, UC San Diego and San Diego State, Jack worked for the City of Vista from 1972 until 2001. Jack has prepared a power point presentation of old photos to accompany his talk.

These Speaker Series programs are offered in the RB History Museum in the Bernardo Winery, 13330 Paseo del Verano Norte and are free to attend.
